Ashford International Film Studios at Newtown Works in Ashford
Ashford International Film Studios is no doubt one of the most significant regeneration projects of the last few decades, converting 12.6 acres of brownfield site into a world-class film studio and mixed-use facility. Although, subject to a shaky start, with funding granted in 2020 and a (seemingly) only fleeting buy-in from Netflix, work finally began on the site in 2025 - two years after its planned completion date.

In addition, Lyn and I decided that, whilst Natalie was the obvious choice of model with which the members could practice their skills developed, I would also pose for the members. Very much a challenge for them!

Whilst five years ago it was important to have simple headshots in your portfolio, usually with a white background and a bland smile to the camera, trends have changed significantly in the meantime. Today, it’s important to demonstrate the potential for connection with an audience; to stimulate a feeling in them; and to provoke an emotional response – just as you would on stage or screen. Here are some key things to take into account when designing your portfolio.
