Launch Party for Chris Henry Photography at Folkestone Studio

After a fantastic year of shooting in my home studio, Friday 16th January 2026 saw the first anniversary of Chris Henry Photography running full time, and the opening night of Folkestone Studio, the new home of Chris Henry Photography!

Occupying over 100m2 over two floors, Folkestone Studio represents a huge step change in my photography, allowing for a broader range of lighting stages and backdrops – as well as the ability to use natural light I’ve never enjoyed hitherto. I’ll post more about the studio in future posts, but this post is about the wonderful reception on Friday night.

I hugely appreciated the warm and excited atmosphere of the party, attended by The Worshipful Mayor Counsellor Lucy McGirr and around 40 friends, family, clients and business people from throughout Kent. Not only was it lovely to be surrounded by so many people who wished me and Folkestone Studio well, but also by fellow creatives who were actively thinking about projects they might like to use the space for. These ranged from other photographers using the space for test shoots to a networking friend who wants to host a steampunk themed re-enactment!

Many thanks to everyone who came to the party – the support from everyone was hugely appreciated (as were the gifts of wine from Pomus, the delightful restaurant and bar just down Tontine Street) – and to everyone who couldn’t make it, but sent their support in other ways. Thanks also to Tom Trevatt, for whom we can thank for these photos of the event.

If you’d like to book the space for use, please drop me a message to discuss your needs; I’d love to be able to help!
