Limited edition Golden Hour photography in the heart of FolkestoneThe Sunset Sessions
Distinctive golden hour portraits shot in the studio and around Folkestone’s Old High Street, Harbour Arm and beach. Created for people whose work depends on how they're seen: business owners, musicians, and creatives.
Only two sessions per week throughout August.
Golden Light, Old Streets, New Portraits
This is a unique photography session designed for a set of photos that could not be duplicated. Golden hour comes around for only a few short weeks a year, and the light of every golden hour is different. So your photos will be genuinely unique – this is not something to be missed.
In each session we will:
Start with thirty minutes of studio time for headshots and table portraits in the amber light of the evening, we’ll make sure we cover any formal photos before we head out to town. If you don’t need a headshot or table portraits, we can spend more time in town!
Spend two hours walking around Folkestone (yes, Golden Hour is usually much longer than one hour!). Before we lose the light, we’ll spend time shooting in:
the Old High Street
the Harbour Arm, and
the beach and the architecture around it
This isn't a generic outdoor add-on!
After this session, you’ll have a set of images that couldn't have been made anywhere else, at any other time of year. Truly personal, unique and ready to show off however you’d like!
Pricing
20 images - £300
Additional images - £50 each
Full gallery add-on (approx. 40 additional photos) - £300
What Will the Session Look Like?
1. Park and Arrive
Parking along Tontine Street, along which the studio is, will be free by the time the session starts. If there are no spaces, Mill Bay and Upper Payers car parks are both only 4-minute walks away.
3. Folkestone Walkabout
Once we’re done in the studio, we’ll walk up to the top of the Old High Street to get some shots with the iconic multicoloured shop-fronts, before walking across the harbour causeway down the harbour arm and across the sea front. Then, you can either collect any bags from my studio, or just head on your way if you’re ready!
2. Studio Photos
The light coming through the studio windows, and their Victorian metal frames, is stunning as the sun starts to go down. So, we’ll spend roughly half an hour getting some headshots and table portraiture.
4. Choose and Download your Photos
After the shoot, I’ll sift all the blinks and awkward shots from your shoot before fully post-processing and retouching all of the photos. I’ll upload these to a gallery from which you can choose and, once you’ve done so, you’ll be sent a download link straight so you can start showing off your photos!

‘I can’t thank Chris enough for his sunset shoot.
He made it personal and less posed, which does help for those who perhaps feel awkward.
Chris knows how to get that right image whilst portraying what you’re trying to show. The shoot was fun and flexible and what amazing images I have. Wonderful backdrops and backgrounds. How lucky are we to have beautiful surroundings to have such a shoot.
I’d highly recommend anyone thinking about having photos done, headshots or indeed a sunset shoot.’

‘Great Golden Hour shoot with Chris - and the photos from it are beautiful!
Chris is great at making your feel relaxed and comfortable - so you look your best on camera, while also making it enjoyable.
The big range of both studio and outside locations made for a great variety in the photos, which will allow me to use them in lots different situations and themes.
Thanks Chris, can't wait to share the images 🙏⭐😎’

Chris was an absolute delight to work with.
The studio itself benefits from beautiful natural light, and the final photos were nothing short of breathtaking. Chris has a rare ability to instantly put you at ease, and the shoot flew by, filled with laughter, creativity, and even the opportunity to learn a little more about yourself along the way.
I would highly recommend Chris as your go-to professional.

‘Chris’ skill, level of service, guidance and supportive manner were incredible. Chris supported me with a selection of headshots and photos as part of me launching my business.
As I’m someone who’s never been in front of a professional before he gave great guidance on what to do, and advice as to what may work best. The session was not stressful at all, and the quality of the photos is amazing! I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who’s considering getting professional photos done!’

The Sunset Session is a limited-edition photography shoot focused on getting beautiful golden-hour photography in and around Folkestone.
We’ll start in Folkestone Studio for headshots and table portraiture (if needed) before walking round the sights of Folkestone: the Old High Street, the Harbour Viaduct, the Harbour Arm and Folkestone’s beach.
The session fee includes 20 digital images, selected from an online gallery. Additional images and the entire gallery are available as optional extra purchases.

The photoshoot will last approximately 2.5 hours, although this will depend on your needs.
The first 30 minutes will be spent in my studio, where we’ll get some headshots and table portraits as the sun begins to go down. Then, we’ll have two hours in Folkestone spanning across Golden Hour. These timings are entirely flexible, and I’m happy to adapt to more/less time in either location.

You can certainly change outfits in the studio in the dedicated changing area. As we walk around Folkestone however, changing outfits is a bit more difficult. Playing with layers works very well however, so plan for different jackets, shawls or accessories.
The variety is provided by the backdrops we’ll shot in; the consistency is provided by your outfit and the light.

As sure as death and taxes, one can guarantee that the weather in the UK is unpredictable! On the understanding that some golden hours are naturally more golden than others, in the event of cloud or rain I’m more than happy to reschedule the shoot to a day with better weather.
